Data Centers, Divas, and the Soul of a City | Episode 7
This is our longest episode yet. Ten voices, one city, and conversations that span generations, memories, and visions for what comes next.
Talk Nothing opens with two strangers sharing what they would tell their younger selves. From there, a speaker delivers an urgent appeal: can Northampton's natural beauty survive the construction of a data center? The question lingers as a clerk magistrate and an educator, together for twenty years, sit down to discuss their histories in this city they've called home.
They're soon joined by two friends and the four trade memories of Northampton's beloved spaces, North Star, Divas, the Grotto, Haymarket, and reflect on what's been lost and what. The conversation celebrates Northampton as a haven for artists, a place where collaboration and community have always thrived.
Two more voices join, including Traci Talbert, Racial Justice Community Engagement Director for Franklin County, before a final speaker closes the night. Ten perspectives. One question: where is Northampton headed, and who gets to shape its future?
This is Talk Nothing. This is the sound of a community taking stock of itself.
